I found watching the same teacher teaching the same lesson twice (with improvements) quite insightful. I was personally very displeased watching the first lesson, as I kept worrying about the poor students - I was even quite upset with the teacher for being so downright rude! But happily, he improved in the second lesson. I feel he could still improve on a number of things, but his whole technique, relationship, attitude improved, so the students enjoyed the lesson and most likely walked away having learned from him this time.
I still struggle to identify some of the stages in the lesson. It is easy for me to list them as they should be, but to watch someone in a foreign situation and identify the phases clearly is a little more challenging.
