This unit taught me the three types of phrasal verbs and how they differ from regular, one-word verbs. This unit also reminded me of the various types of clauses, including independent, dependent, defining relative, and non-defining relative clauses. The unit also went over active and passive voice, and I learned that passive voice is used when the performer of the action is not important or known. In addition to active and passive voice, this unit taught me the many different modal verbs and showed me that we use them differently to express things like certainty, formality/politeness, obligation, advice, permission and ability.
