In this unit I learned the do's and dont's of teaching various types of beginners and special group types. I learned that when teaching beginners, it's best to take the lessons slow, use visuals, don't focus on correcting every mistake, repeat and review often, and to keep the language simple. I learned that when teaching children, business professionals, and individuals, there are different methods that will work best and there are unique challenges to each group. I will be teaching children in the future so I paid special attention to the section on teaching children. I learned how keeping the lessons fun, encouraging, and positive while also maintaining control of the class is important.
