Being an elementary teacher, I am used to lesson planning which would include learner objectives, anticipated problems/solutions, and timing and interactions or groupings. Learning about the phases: engage, study, activate has added a new dimension to my skill set. I use cooperative learning strategies constantly in my classroom but am still sometimes struggling with identifying suitable activities for the "engage" portion of the lesson. I will do some more research on the internet on ELL activities appropriate for that phase.
