This unit discusses the topics of pronunciation and teaching strategies. It covers intonation, stress, and techniques for teaching each. It then discusses sound joining, linked speech, and the phonemic alphabet, and ends by describing the various physical ways sounds are articulated. In this unit, I feel I have examined closely sounds I produce without thinking. Paying attention to the text's descriptions and illustrations made me aware of better ways to describe the process of making sounds. Additionally, I became more aware of some pronunciation differences between American and British speakers.
