Equipment and teaching aids are important for every classroom. A board or SMARTboard is a must for every classroom. A computer can provide a teacher with access to visual material, CDs, video and audio, and resource material. However, individual computers shouldn't be overused in the classroom as they can cause students to become uncommunicative. For language learning classrooms, dictionaries are probably the most useful tool for students. This was an interesting unit because I have had to change my thinking from how to teach content (in English) to ELL students to how to teach English to ELL students. Many of the tools and strategies are the same, but the process for teaching grammar is greatly different--especially if it is the main teaching point. I didn't understand how to answer question 11 as I felt all the answers were normal to the dictionaries I use. I chose pronunciation because there was a place that I could touch a spot and hear UK or USA (audio)pronunciations of the word instead of just relying on the pronunciation using the Phonemic Alphabet.
