This unit examines conditionals and reported speech. It begins with summaries of the five types of conditionals, then goes over common errors and teaching ideas. Then, the unit covers reported speech, discussing changes that must occur to verb tenses, to pronouns, and to time expressions, and well as teaching ideas. While studying each of these topics, I feel that I have learned strategies for teaching conditionals and reported speech to learners of English, and have drawn connections between these strategies and the ways my own teachers taught me these concepts when I was a foreign language student.
