This unit provided a lot of information regarding different activities one can use in the classroom. It also talked about the nine most prevalent ESL methodologies and the main points concerning them. I found the Silent Way particularly interesting because I have had yet to encounter information prior to this course concerning this teaching style. The chapter also talked about many different styles of lesson planning and some rules concerning building lessons in such a way that minimize Teacher talking time and promotes student centered lessons. I have experience in this field and it was really nice to get some new activities ideas such as the community language learning methodology. I would like to try and use this style with some of my adult students in the future here in Japan.
