Lesson planning and creating lesson plans sheets are vital in creating organised and structured lessons, which act as a record of leaning objectives, progress, areas of improvement as a teacher and potential problems students may encounter. The lesson planning needs to include materials , props and teaching aides. Whilst a lesson needs planning, the teacher needs to be flexible and adaptable to the students. Organisation is most important to deliver the best outcome for students and teacher. I found the self evaluation form very useful as an observation tool of my progress as a teacher and how each area of the lesson went . It is an excellent tool. The units on Grammar of present perfect simple and the exercises were fantastic way of imparting this information to students, as this is often a confusing area. Understanding and articulating the past particle of words to create the present perfect simple with the gap fill exercise is a good idea. Planning a lesson using the Straight ESA method for "where have you been" was a invaluable exercise.
Developing the lesson plan using the patchwork ESA style on the use of possibilities was excellent for challenging my mind and how I could impart this information to the students. I am finding as I progress further through the course I realise the challenges associated with teaching a language I take for granted.
