In this unit, we learned about common situations that can cause problems during class. For example, we discussed issues that can arise such as if the class size is too big. To help with this problem, it is good to have student participate in many student-student exercises (like pair work or group work). For the issue of native language, it is best to have the students try and use the language as much as possible. Another issue could be that the English levels of students can be wide, so some good strategies involve pairing weaker students with stronger students or have them do the same material, but split the tasks up by difficulty. I thought that this unit was helpful because it’s good to know how to combat the problems that come up in class. This unit, helped equip me with real ways to help mitigate problems that could come up in my classes.
