This unit focused on the teaching of productive skills which are speaking and writing, along with the addition of games in the classroom. From this unit I have learned the difference between accuracy activities and fluency activities and how each are used in a typical ESA lesson. I learned that accuracy activities will usually be used in the study phase whereas fluency will be used in the activate phase. I also learned what controlled, guided, and creative activities are and the types of activities that would fall under each of those categories. In regards to teaching writing skills, I learned that some factors to take into consideration when composing a writing lesson are things such as handwriting, spelling, and punctuation, components which may be difficult for learners of a native language different from English.
