I found the information about eye contact and gestures helpful as these are cues that can be taken for granted and add a lot to how engaging a classroom/teacher is. Getting specific about eye contact and gestures, e.g. how making eye contact without holding it too long, will be helpful and kept in mind when I'm in the classroom! However, there are aspects of this unit that I wish were more specific, say specific strategies that ESL teachers can use to project their voice in a large classroom, to change up the tone of their voice, or to memorize students' names. Some of this stuff might be obvious or figured out easily enough on one's own, but part of what I liked about the eye contact advice is that, though perhaps obvious in retrospect, the advice is specific enough that I can put it to practice without uncertainty about how to utilize it. Another indication that a lot of the content in this section isn't specific enough is the answers to this unit's test can very likely be answered without having read the unit section. The section on discipline was informative, especially on how to be proactive in avoiding problem behavior by varying classes and being professional (e.g. punctual).
