This lesson was a nice way to wrap up the TEFL course because it talked about specific situations that might, or even almost certainly will, arise in a classroom. I found it particularly helpful to think through the logistics of a first class. There are many things about the group of students that you are dealing with that can pose unique challenges, from large class size to use of native language and from varying levels of proficiency in English to dealing with reluctant students. This unit gave a set of useful tips for dealing with these situations, many of which are contrary to instinct or common sense.
