During this lesson I was able to achieve a deeper understanding of receptive skills. It helped me to see the greater meaning of listening and reading in its various forms such as skimming, scanning, etc. An interesting take away from this lesson was how language and topic choice affect the reading and listening of students. As a teacher the selection of study material should create interest among the students and motivate them.
