Unit 7 introduces rather general informations about vocabulary, grammar and functions. No matter what kind of method the teacher chooses, the students need to do four things with the new language: be exposed to it, understand its meaning, understand its construction and be able to practise and produce it. There is not only one way how to approach teaching the vocabulary, grammar and functions. In the perfect scenario, those three things should be introduced in a balanced way. But in reality, vocabulary, grammar and functions might be taught separately within diverse lessons. I think the most important thing is to create the connections between the separate lessons to create the picture of the whole tree, with tree trunk, branches and leaves.
