This Unit focuses solely on conditionals and reported speech in the English language. It explains that conditionals are sentences that contain the “if” or similar expression such as “when”. There are five main conditionals, they are; the Zero Conditional, the First Conditional, Second conditional, the Third Conditional and the Mixed conditional. The Unit concludes with a brief discussion on some of the common mistakes that students make while learning to use these conditionals and it speaks to how these mistakes can be avoided. Finally, the idea of reported and direct speech is covered in detail.
