Pronunciation and phonology are important part of teaching english same as grammar. It is important for our students to understand how native speakers talk and that pronunciation can be very different from writing and as well in different parts of English speaking countries. Teaching intonation can be done by many ways and can bring fun to the class. It is very important to explain students that it depends where they put stress on the word in the sentence it can change the meaning of the sentence and it could cause misunderstandings in comunication. In this lesson we learned how to use phonetic alphabet and how to introduce it to our students. It is essential to use it as it can help them later on in their future studies of English language.
