Teaching is one of the most comlicated jobs today. It demands deep subject knowledge, curriculum, standards, classroom management technics, caring attitude and love of learning. The qualities of a good teacher are endless. Primarily, a teacher's goal is to motivate the students, because a motivated student has a greater chance to success. But to built the motivation the teacher has to ensure that lessons are enjoyable, interesting, varied and useful.
Let's consider what makes a good learner. In my opinion desire to learn and ask questions are the most important characteristics of a successful learner. Because they search out the information, read, analyze, and evaluate the information they have found. Good learners never run out of questions as ther is always more to learn.
But we can't deny the fact that all learners are unique in their strengths and challenge, and it is the job of a teacher to foster highly individualized learning. Also, a good teacher should take into consideration such factors as age, culture, language level, learning experience, etc that can influence the process of studying.
In conclusion I'd like to say that if a teacher displays enthusiasm and pleasure in teaching it can have a positive influence on learners. Besides, according to Robert John Meehan "the teachers who ;ove teaching, teach children to love larning". A teacher who doesn't enjoy his or her job cannot be efective at all and can't expect students to enjoy the class.
