Productive skills are speaking and writing. Reasons for productive skills are to communicate purpose, to say something, to listen to something, and being interested in what is being said. Accuracy is more about producing correct language, where as fluency is about creating language that flows. They are both important skills. Speaking activities in class can include drilling 3x3, role play, discussions, and debates. Writing skills can be challenging but improved with repetition. Spelling can be improved with reading a lot. Games are a major part of teaching english as well. It helps get the students comfortable enough to practice their new language in a fun way.
