This unit enabled me to learn a little about phonology and its forms of linguistic organization, sounds and their levels of performance represented by STRESS, RHYTHM and INTONATION. Phonetic symbology also helped me to remember to eliminate some accents. About articulation and the speech organs and place of articulation where the sounds are produced I found it a little difficult to associate place and manner of articulation for consonants such as plosives, fricatives, affricates and nasals. On page 22 my brain shuffled to translate the phonemes, but it was a new experience for me.
