This lesson is especially useful for me because I have learned the advantages and disadvantages of using course books, authentic and created materials. When I was teaching earlier, I used high quality and interesting course books, but sometimes I felt I needed to supplement its content to highlight some grammatical rules. Sometimes, I used books from various publishers. In addition, this chapter gives me an overview of the criteria to select course books. Moreover, I got ideas for which phases of the lessons it is worth using course books and/or my own materials and which kind of supplementary tasks I can prepare (crossword puzzles, gap filling exercises, etc.).
