In this unit, I have learned the different types of equipment and teaching aids that a teacher could use as a tool to make a creative, encouraging and productive lesson less dependent on the textbook. I have learned the principles and uses of the equipment and teaching aids and picked up some useful information, and advice which I believe very useful especially for the teachers with lack or without experience in teaching EFL like me. But what interests me a lot is the list of web links and resources from the internet recommended in this unit because it would be easier for me next time where to look for references so I can make a more creative lesson for the students without worrying its reliability. I have thought this reason because based on my experience, lacking with resources in English books or any other materials for English teaching is quite difficult to look for mainly in the countryside of a country like Japan where the language is not commonly spoken, and English books are not widely available in the town library or bookstore. Therefore, I only rely on the textbooks provided by the community schools or cram schools and the research I do from the internet. But even though there are lots of links and resources on the internet, for me as an inexperienced teacher the tricky part is to decide which website is better to use. But now, because of the lesson, information, and tips, I have learned from this unit I think I could be more confident next time in making a more creative, encouraging and productive lesson for my students.
