The past tense was the focus of this unit. All four of the forms were expounded upon. The past simple tense is primarily used for completed past actions. Past continuous is used for actions in progress in the past. Use of the past perfect tense can denote a past action that occurred before another past action. Although not common, the past perfect continuous is utilized to show more long term actions in the past. While the use of these forms is instinctual for me, it was helpful to review the details of their use to better guide English Language Learners.
