Chapter 19 focused on teaching special groups such as beginners, individual students, children, business people and monolingual and multilingual classes. This was an extremely helpful lesson because I plan on working with many different groups of students. For each group, this unit gives suggestions on the best way to teach, and the different activities you should do. The section on children talks about class discipline and classroom management which is important to this group but not necessarily something you need to worry about when teaching adults in a business setting. Teaching business English and English for specific purposes was all new information for me, so I really appreciated that section. This is something I was nervous about before but feel much more confident about it now. The sample of the needs analysis and suggestions for the class will be very useful to me in the future if I teach business people.
