Unit 1 gave me an understanding of not only the things that make a good teacher but spelled out to me the types of students I may have in my English class. A teacher should be kind and patient, love teaching, able to motivate learners, and have a good subject knowledge. You not only need to have this class be educational, but you need to make it fun and interesting. A teacher may have a class that is just beginning and knows no English to a class where the students are advanced and have a very good knowledge of the English language. A teacher needs to be aware of the differences and prepared to handle each type of learner.
