I had many experiences about teaching beginners in my former teaching career. However, I had never teach different groups. In this unit, I learned a lot which can help me with my future teaching area.
For teaching children, teacher needs to have lots of repetition to draw students attention and help them remember the language points. Also, teacher should have a slower and clearer pronunciation when teaching children. What's more, children are always very sensitive to unfairness and that means the teacher need to make activities under control and keep balanced between different groups.
For teaching beginners, that can be really difficult. Some of the students even know nothing about ABC. For teaching this kind of beginners, teachers need both special skills and psychology. First, teachers need to make sure all the students can understand the instructions, we can also teach them some simple instructed sentences at the beginning to help them understand. Second, paring the weak students with stronger student can be helpful. Last, trying to keep positive and patient even though they don't show what you expect and encourage them to try again.
