This unit focuses on the usages and structure of the present tense. The main point of focus is to stress which form the verb will take in order to correctly complete the statement. The unit also highlights many common mistakes students tend to make while learning these tenses, as well as suggestions for the activate stage during teaching lessons. All activities should require the students to use the language point that is being taught. It is important to ensure that during the activate stage "student talk time" is maximized, that the task is focused on fluency, and that the task is appropriate for the students regarding age, language level, class size, timing, and the culture and interests of the students.
