In this unit, I have learnt about the situations that will normally be faces in a class. First is first lesson. There are 2 main groups that a teacher will meet in their first class which are new group and existing group. New group includes students which are not familiar with each other and the EFL teaching method while existing group includes students which are familiar with each other and the EFL teaching method. During the first lesson, it is advised to use the lesson to get to know the students and establish rapport with them by conducting activities. Next, teachers may encounter a class with different levels. In this situation, teacher have to be flexible by using different methods such as giving different task to the stronger group of students.
When teaching large classes, there are a few methods which are not suitable such as individual drilling as it will be too time consuming in a large class, instead, teachers may opt to other activities such as worksheets and pair work. Following is reluctant studies. In class, teachers may find students which are reluctant to study. In this situations teachers may conduct more pair work to allow the student's partner to encourage the student.
