Unit 3 covered methodologies and techniques for teaching a set objective in a single lesson. From the variety of methods introduced, the most encouraged would be Engage-Study-Activate (ESA). The Engage phase involves getting the students thinking and talking in English. The manner in which they are engaged does not necessarily have to be related to the days lesson. Study is the phase in which most new learning occurs and corrections are made. In the Activate phase, the students practice their recently attained knowledge by doing an activity related to the lessons objective. The most helpful portion of this unit was the plethora of activity examples that could be used in the Engage and Activity phases.
