I started this course because I needed some basic training for teaching since all I knew up to then had come from “on the job experience”. What I have gained is exactly this, a good preparation related to language awareness as well as methodology. This course helped me put some order in my already existing knowledge and helped me build on it some new skills. The areas I found most interesting are the ones related to methodology and to actual practice, like class ideas and activities. Before this course, I felt my teaching methodology was mostly “following my instinct” now I feel that there’s an actual reason behind every choice I make as a teacher and I know how to plan my lessons and my students’ learning process. I have also learned a lot about material and tools like being creative in choosing material as well as activities. On top of that I have gained more confidence in teaching grammar. I will definitely be using my lesson plan format which I did not use before this course and I will definitely follow the ESA method!
