This course has been inexplicably beneficial for us because we plan to pursue EFL teaching jobs in august in South korea. We believe that this course has increased our ability to teach english as a second language 10 fold because now we know the rules that accompany all the different aspects of the language. It is one thing to be a native speaker of a language, but it is another to be a native speaker plus have the knowledge of the inner workings of the language that are often over looked by other native speakers. It has also increased our confidence to be able to stand in front of a classroom of children, adolescents, and adults of any english competency levels. The ESA model of creating lesson plans is something tangible that we will be employing each and every day that we are teaching english as a second language. This method is most beneficial to not only the teacher, but to the students as well. Due to the fact that this course covers all major themes and aspects of the english language, we feel comfortable that we can divulge in a clear and concise manner lessons on any of these subjects to our future students. As a side benefit, this course teaches you how to be a teacher in general, which will be useful to both of us because we hope to be high school teachers in canada after our experiences abroad are finished. It teaches you tangible fundamentals about maintaining discipline in the classroom as well as how to keep focus and enthusiasm levels at a maximum during the lessons. Overall, we are very glad that we decided to take the ITTT course with you Darren and we have very much appreciated all the insight and real life experiences that you have shared with us along our journey to completing this course.
