This course has taught me exactly what to expect in the classroom. It has gone over all the major points of classroom teaching, including the areas I was most worried about.
The best parts of the course were the activities and games it introduced me to. I strongly believe that keeping students engaged and active is the perfect way to run a classroom, and I am a strong advocate of games but I wondered how I would put my ideals into action. This course has introduced me to more than 100 different teaching games and activities. It has also incited me to create a compilation of student activities of my own, using the internet, games from the family and teaching references.
I was also worried about lesson plans and setting up the content for lessons. Before starting this course I had never made a lesson plan. This course spent several units explaining how to correctly plan and form a day’s worth of activities for my students and for that I am eternally grateful.
I was already familiar with the grammar and linguistics aspects of the course but having a unit that explains it all when I teach a lesson is just the assurance I need by my side when working.
