I have enjoyed taking this course very much. Far more than just getting the certificate that I need to work, I have gained insight into this new profession and I feel like I am better able to present myself as a qualified teacher in this area. Although I knew a lot about english grammar before, much of my knowledge was based on a native speaker's intuition about what sounded right or sounded awkward. After taking this course I am better able to explain to others why a sentence is grammatical or ungrammatical. I have also learned a bit about the sequence that students must use to learn this language. The best part about the course was the many teaching ideas and tips that were included. I have already used some of the ideas in my work, and I will continue looking back at the units to get further ideas on how to teacher particular grammar points. I also feel like the lesson plan format has been very useful to me. Because I have been teaching for year, I have been required to use various lesson plan formats, but I have always felt that I am still a bit under-organized. I feel that the format presented in this course is particularly helpful in getting myself organized to teach english as a Foreign Language. I have already started using this format in my work, and my boss gave me a compliment yesterday on my newly improved lesson planning!
