The grammar review was very helpful in this course. Being a native english speaker I have never needed to how or why I put sentences together the way I do. Coming from a back ground of teachers, I had plenty of feedback when learning to speak so I just knew what say and write without ever really learning the grammar behind it. I do remember many rules but I had forgotten tense. The basics you have put in this course are perfect for getting started. Some of came back to me and some of it I didn’t remember. I was in school 40 years ago so maybe it wasn’t even taught back then. I do not know. It seems to be just the right amount of knowledge needed to get someone started speaking and writing in english.
One thing that was interesting to me was writing using contractions. When I grew up you were not supposed use contractions in writing. I see how useful it is to use them in” teaching” english because that is how we talk.
I have learned that I would not want to be a person trying to learn english. I am so glad that english is my native language. I am trying to learn spanish. It is muy difícil and the sentence structures just don’t make any sense to me. That is without having to deal with tense and irregulars and concepts and meaning like with english.
I will utilize the practice at writing lesson plans. That was very good practice that I needed. I will continue to refer to this material as a guide. It has been helpful for me starting out teaching. The websites and game information is very helpful. I have already used those tools and will continue to use the resources given in this course.
