This course has taught me to think differently about teaching english and teaching in general. I have gained the knowledge to help me start my career as a foreign language english teaching teacher. The basic skills will prove invaluable when I am going to teach my first lesson and from there on forward. Doing this course has not only improved my confidence to be able to teach, but also has given me the world of ideas and resources to implement and plan lessons for the future.
I think the course is well structured and thought through. I have learnt how to plan lessons, manage classrooms, use available aids constructively, not even starting to talk about the valuable information gained regarding grammar. Even though I am english speaking, the last time I had to study grammar was in school and this course has refreshed and added to my knowledge. The help of the tutor has broadened my thinking process and because I am also going to teach in an Asian country, his experience definitely has given me direction.
I now feel that although I obviously still need to gain a lot of experience, as a first time teacher, I do have the necessary knowledge to do the job. I will be confident in a teaching environment and I am looking forward to this new and exciting challenge!!
