The course has been interesting and thought provoking. It has given me many ideas and insights. I have particularly found the lesson planning useful. I think that having a lesson planned makes the teaching so much smoother and allows the teacher to think through the different stages of the lesson and attempt to anticipate problems as well as being prepare with what is needed for the lesson. There is nothing worse than having a teacher running in and out of a class making photocopies.
I now have a number of new ideas in ‘my bag’ for making the class more interesting and stimulating. I think warmers are really good in any class and games can make learning so much more fun. I am in favor of small groups and pair work and limiting whole class discussions. Immediate feedback is really important and students should be encouraged at all times to keep going.
Overall very enjoyable and I am looking forward to putting it all into practice.
