I have gained a great deal through taking this course. Some of the points that I have learned are:
• An improved understanding of the english language. The grammar rules, structure, and the many exceptions that exist to rules of grammar as well as spelling. A better understanding of the difficulties that students may encounter because of the differences with their language and english, (tense systems, sentence structure, pronunciation).
• Certain cultures may have different understanding of how teaching should be accomplished. How to maintain order in the classroom and the importance of respecting cultural values of the students you are entrusted with. How to plan lesson and keep in mind a sequence of lessons with objectives in mind and to keep on track for those objectives. Planning the course with a goal in mind for the students to achieve.
