As english is my first language, I had a firm grasp of the how-to’s on communicating my point in english. However, I never really knew the underlying grammar and it was nice to learn the basics. I mainly teach special needs children and special needs young adults, so I plan my lessons, but in a different way. Learning to plan lessons through this course was interesting and has improved the way I plan my lessons overall. I plan to tutor when I have time and to use what I learned in this course to bolster my current teaching. Some of my special needs students have a strong desire to learn english, so I will be combining my skills as a therapist and a amateur english teacher to help them learn.
