It has been often said that in order to really know a subject, one has to be able to teach/convey it effectively to another individual and although I am a native speaker and have used the language almost my entire life, there were many aspects of the language that I never gave second thoughts to until now (For example phonetics). This has really opened up new areas of development for me in the love of the language that I so often take for granted.
This course has really enriched me greatly in that while all the units studied were specifically tailored to teach the english language, many techniques/methods could be used to teach other subjects or even other languages just as effectively (such as managing classes-unit 5 and lesson planning unit 9) Thus, even in the event that I am not able to teach english specifically, I will be still able to teach others in different subjects, such as Mathematics or the Sciences.
However, it has always been my passion to help people be able to communicate better professionally, and along with my degree in Engineering as well as work experience, I hope to be able to teach business english to young business professionals, so that they do not get so influenced by modern technologies that they forget the purpose of communicating effectively and efficiently.
