This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This course has given me a much greater understanding of the technical aspects of english grammar. I wish I could remember how I managed to learn english in the first place, because I'm not sure I'd be up to the task if I had to do it as an adult. There are aspects of it that I know would be very challenging to learn, especially for people who are unfamiliar with the roman alphabet. For this reason, I have so much more respect for the people I know who have managed to learn english as a second language (not that I didn't respect them before, but I definitely took their language achievements for granted.) I also feel really lucky to have been born in an english-speaking country. Where you're born is a chance occurrence. The fact that I am a native english speaker in a globalizing world gives me some great opportunities that I wouldn't have if I had been born somewhere else. It's an unfair advantage, really, but I think it's a positive one.
