I have learned a lot during this course. I realized while reading the text and completing the worksheets, that I have learned a lot of it prior to the course. I had just never put it into much practice and I never put a name to the rules or ideas. To me, it is very beneficial to learn the grammatical name and rule. If any students have questions on a specific rule or sentence, I now know that I could help them with their problem and identify the issue. I feel more confident with my english grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammatical identification. The identification of the engage, study and activity stage has given me a new understanding to the function of teaching students in a learning environment. Also, the practicing of creating lesson plans for the course as taught me how to plan lessons efficiently and effectively while living in japan. With what I have learned throughout the course, I plan to put it into use while I am living in japan. I will use the information to create lesson plans for the students, while focusing on their needs and creating interest throughout the lessons. After Japan, I will continue to use what I have learned in graduate school. I plan to go to graduate school for marine archaeology. The information will help me write grammatically correct and interesting/effective papers. I will be able to identify issues within my papers from university and correct it. After graduate school, I would like to go to South America and teach english. I will use what I have learned in this course and put it into practice teaching english to the students. This course has given me a possibility to learn invaluable information. I have learned a great deal about the english language and teaching skills that can be applied to many areas of expertise not only confined to english. From what I have gained from the course, I will be able to use it to great extent in the future. It will help me to teach many different kinds of students and become a better teacher.
